Day Two - Trip to Washington D.C.

Arlington National Cemetary

Walking in the drizzle that soon turned to a steady rain.

The rain kept most of the noisy tourists and school groups away, so we had complete peace and quite in which to walk around and visit the graves and monuments to the men who served our country with so much honor and bravery.

The roads were named after famous - and some not so famous- generals of various wars.
Elsie refused the stroller as the rain came down more heavily - so it was that I discovered the art of holding a small person and an heavy umbrella at the same time :-)
