Living History Farms Cross-Country Run

A cold and miserable day to run, yet over 7,500 people showed up at the run - many in less than warm costumes! This is only 1/4 of the crowd - I have never seen this many people racing before. You couldn't even see the starting line!

The course was 6 miles long, with vicious hills to clamber up and cold creeks to cross.

The costumes were varied and creative. Santa and four reindeer showed up, along with the entire cast from the Wizard of Oz! (below)

A cold and wet Caleb shows up at the car. There were so many people there that I never did see Caleb start or watch him run by on the course. Elsie did so well in the cold - until she got hungry :-) So we had to walk back to the car and wait for Caleb to find us!

It started snowing as soon as the race was over so it was not fun for the poor racers who had to walk over a mile to get back to their cars. Speaking of cars... there were lines like you wouldn't believe! The exit on the interstate was backed up for over two miles before the race, and after the race... well I just leave that to your imagination!

wow! Looks like "fun." I think I remember hearing about that race, but never actually doing it. What was your time Caleb? How was it?
