Work Day

We closed our house on Friday, June 6 (the 64th anniversary of D-Day).  It was quick and painless, or at least shorter than I expected.  We bought lost of materials Friday night, and got ready for our big work day.

Most of my family and some of Grady's were at the house in the morning, and Luke and Mr. Larsen arrived in the afternoon.  We spent over 12 hours working on the house.  We got quite a bit done, almost everything on the list from building shelves in the basement to staining doors and "de-spotifying trim".  Sanding was ongoing from just before noon as it took quite awhile to figure out how and then remove nails from the hardwood floor.  We ended up getting about 3/4 of sanding done but will have to finish the upstairs later.

I am very thankful for all who helped us out with the work.
